The inspiration behind Pet Prepared NZ
Pet Prepared NZ started from thinking about our own pets and what would happen if, for some reason, we couldn't get home to them. Whether it was an earthquake, flooding, an accident, or something completely unexpected, we knew there were people who would help. But would they be able to get into our home? Would they know where everything was and what our pets needed?
Creating a solution for pet emergencies
That's where the idea for Pet Prepared NZ began. We wanted to create a simple, practical way to have everything organised beforehand — trusted emergency contacts, secure access to the home and clear information about each pet and their care. We've also included a simple door tag so that if normal communication isn't available, other nominated contacts can see that someone has already been to the property and the pets are being cared for.
Our unique approach to pet safety
